There are various stereotypes of men; both positive and negative. Below are some of the perceptions of the role of men in society.

 
Men As:
  • Providers/Husbands/Single Men.

  • Carers of Children.

  • Sharing Domestic Duties. 

  • Participating/sharing children's schooling.

  • Professionals – doctors, lawyers, accountants.

  • Skilled and Semi-skilled.

  • Manual Workers.

  • All types of work.

  • Men's role in the home – on how the division of labour in the home is narrowing.

  • Men providing emotional, social and psychological development and support for their children.

  • Men providing support and care for dependants.

  • Men's role – providing a supporting role to women/children.
