How Men and Women approach marital problems
-
Men are more into dealing with facts and wanting “instant” solutions
-
Women are more likely to talk about their feelings and to take a broader view
of their problems
-
Men are more likely to say, “my wife doesn't understand me and I don't understand
her”
-
Men are more likely to be quiet or almost silent and the woman to be more talkative
- Men are often confused about their role and her role
-
Men often expect their female partners to put them first, but men often seem
to put their partners at the bottom of the priority list
-
Men often deal with conflict either by fighting or by running away from the conflict
Men and Women living together
-
There is very little information or statistics on issues relating to men and
women living together in long term relationships but who are not married.
-
There are many unresolved issues with regard to this category, some of which
are, succession, inheritance and property rights, visitation right at hospital
and parental responsibility and access to sub-fertility treatment.
Same sex partnerships
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual groups report barriers to accessing essential
services, due to the fact that some organisations for example, healthcare and
housing do not recognise same-sex partners as being 'family'.
