Festivals and Customs

The African Caribbean community is a diverse and mutli cultural community and celebrates its customs and festivals in different ways according to the country of origin.

In Nigeria for example the New Yam Festival is held at the end of the rainy season. Fulani is a marriage festival in Nigeria. In Southern Nigeria there is a fishing festival held.

In Zimbabwe in September/October, after the harvest families will get together to thank the ancestors for a good harvest.

The Christian community celebrate the main Christian festivals and traditions.
